Type of Poem: Free Verse Structure: 1 stanza Poetic Techniques: Metaphor Meaning: This poem is a praise of the mother and father of nature, the earth and the sky. It says that at the start with "O our Mother the Earth, O our Father the Sky," saying that they are mighty and praise them. The children in this poem also say "We bring you the gifts you love" as if they were praising them with gifts. This poem is just basically a poem written by the poet to say that the earth and sky are great and you should praise them. Opinion: I did not really like this poem or hate this poem. To me this poem is once again, just another poem. I had felt nothing when I was reading this poem. Also it didn't attract my attention because it didn't rhyme. |
