X-RAY-TED

Sue was a radiographer;

Ted was a lumberjack.

They were happy when they married;

But that was ten years back.

Lately, when he kissed her,

Someone else was on his mind.

The other night, he went out,

Another love to find.

This went on for several months:

He was sure she did not know.

For he thought he'd been so careful:

So discreet, not let it show.

But, one day when he went home,

Behind the door, his bags were packed.

And his records, tapes and discs,

In a pile, all neatly stacked.

In the years that he'd lived with her

It never occurred to him:

His wife, the radiographer

Could always see straight through him.
