SUPERSTITIONS

Never put up your umbrellas indoors;

Don't put new shoes on the table.

Always refuse to walk under ladders

If you are practically able.

Always beware of jackdaws and crows:

They are thought to bring bad news.

A single magpie is unlucky as well:

It's much better to see them in twos.

If ever a black cat should cross your path,

It is certain to bring you good luck.

If you want to check if someone loves you,

Then the petals from flowers you pluck.

If you happen to break a mirror at all,

Then it will probably end in tears:

You're sure to have seven years rotten luck;

But at least you will live seven years!

If they happen to see a lucky rabbit's foot,

Then some people will reach out and grab it:

Believing it might bring them good luck;

But it didn't do much for the rabbit.

In folklore you will find there are many beliefs:

Some of evil and some are of good.

But you'll never catch me believing these things;

'Cause I'm not superstitious - touch wood!
