SCOUT MOOR

A golden sunset casting

Her paler silhouettes

Upon a snow-clad hillside

Where the sun and shadows met,

Waiting for the moonbeam

To cast her silver glow

Upon a lonely hillside

Enveloped in the snow.

For those who want the simpler things

Of life to linger on,

Of love and life and beauty

And moonlight and the sun.

For shadows of an aging day

Show love and joy and peace,

It's there, it's free for everyone

Till time alone will cease.

For I have seen this beauty

As others must have seen

For centuries can't alter

What God's creation means.

So if you feel so down at heart

And if your soul is still,

See nature in the moonlight

Upon a snow-clad hill.
