NOTHING CHANGES
The trees are the same,
The birds still sing their song
The rivers still flow to the sea.
The sun rises at dawn,
The dew still welcomes the morn:
Yet something's missing for me.
The salmon still shimmers
As he swims up the stream.
The owl still sits silent, as if in a dream
The corn in the field,
Seems to swing as it sways:
Yet something's missing for me.
The winter snow has receded;
The leaves fill the trees.
The honey is made by the bee.
The days still get lighter;
The stars still shine brighter:
Yet something's missing for me.
As I look at your picture,
My eyes dimmed with tears;
As I reminisce my darling
Through those wonderful years:
Moments of joy, sweet moments of bliss
And I know what is missing:
All the love in your kiss.
