INSPIRATION

What sparks off inspiration,

An idea out of the blue,

Something really brilliant

That appears to you.

Or does your inspiration

Help you to survive,

A prop, a crutch to lean on,

To help keep you alive.

Whatever your inspiration,

Hang on to it if you can;

Let it keep you going:

Don't be an also ran.

Just think your inspiration,

Is the brainchild you have borne,

Be it saint or sinner,

With halo or with horns.

And when that burst of inspiration,

Comes, before it's gone,

Use it to it's best advantage,

It might just be, it's your only one.
