Character

• Who is the main character?

• Identify (tell) about physical traits...what they look like (age, etc.)

• Identify at least 2 character traits from our list.

• Use examples from the story to support each character trait.

     For example, if you thought Despereaux was daring, you might say:

"Despereaux is daring in the story.  He went into the princess Pea's room to listen to the music.  He was also daring because he spoke to the princess and the king."

Conflict/Story Problem

• Identify the problem that the character has in the story.

• Explain the steps that the character take to solve the problem.

• Tell whether or not the problem was resolved, (or solved), and how it was solved.

Cover

• Your cover must contain a hand-drawn picture that shows an important event in the story.

• On the back of the front cover, describe what the scene is.

• Your cover must contain the title of the book, the author's name, your name, grade 4, and the date.
