Mystery Book Report 

 

  1. Setting

o       Identify where, when, and over what period of time the story takes place.

o       Explain how the setting is important to the development of the story.

  1. Story Problem/Crime
  1. Possible Suspects

o       List at least 2 characters from the story (people, animals, or creatures) as possible suspects.

o       Identify their motives (or reasons) why they might have caused the problem or committed the crime.

  1. Detective/Chief Investigator

o       Who is the main character (protagonist) in the story?

o       Describe 2 character traits, (qualities), of the main character.

·        Use story evidence to show how the character demonstrated these traits in the story.

  1. Steps Taken

o       List the steps taken by the detective, or series of events in the story, that build to the climax.

  1. Solution to the Crime

o       Describe the scene (part of the story) where the mystery is solved.

  1. Opinion of the Book

o       List what you liked and did not like about the book.

·        Consider (think about) the story’s characters, the setting, the plot (series of events), and climax of the story as you give your opinion.

  1. Cover

o       Your cover must contain a hand-drawn picture that depicts (shows) the climax of the story (the scene where the mystery was solved).
