8/27/01:Manson is getting sued. Don't really know what that has to do with censorship, but this is almost a Manson fan site anyway, so...what the heck. But anyway, apparently he sat on the shoulders of a security guard, who reeealy didn't appriciate the attention. Oh well. We'll see what happens. Oh, and I've finally gotten my Censorship paper written up, now I've just got to figure out how to post it. It's frusterating to be such a techo-weenie.

7/28/01:Well, the article about Ozzfest at Mile High Stadium is up, and has been for awhile, I just fell off the face of the earth for a little while. I'm trying to figure out how to organize the links on this page. Soon to follow...My term paper thingy on "Censorship and Rock Music" as soon as I type the friggin' thing up.

6/28/01:Party time!! Guess who played the Mile High Stadium in Denver? You got it. We won, everybody! CPR went down, Manson and Ozzfest played to a full stadium. I'm gonna put the article up here as soon as I can, I'm HTML retarded.

6/20/01:Woohoo! MTV premeiered Nine Inch Nails' "Deep" sometime lately, exactly when, I don't know. Although the song itself contained nothing especially controversial, NIN has long been a target of the PMRC (Parent's Music Resource Center) and other such censorship groups, for songs like "Heresy" and "Closer". MTV also redeemed themselves, a little, by playing "The Nobodies" at 8 PM, as opposed to 4:30 AM. Dolores Tucker is probably out there somewhere smacking her head off a wall right now. :D

6/15/2001: Sometime last week, MTV very, very quietly premiered Marilyn Manson's "The Nobodies", in it's insanely censored form. Apparently, MTV thinks that Manson should not be allowed to make a political statement, and removed the words "dead", "died", and "ratings" (?!) from the song. My view on this: The song was about the media exploiting tragedies such as Columbine, the Oklahoma City Bombing, etc, and MTV is covering its own ass just in case someone finds the song or video offensive. That's why they cut it down from 6 minutes into 2 1/2, removed all meaning from it, and then showed it at 4:30 in the freaking morning. I hate MTV.

6/11/2001: Rock Vs. Censorship is officially up and running, though not exactly interesting; we haven't really put much up here yet. But Ozzfest has just started, and will no doubt be a lightning rod for controversy...we'll probably have some stories soon...
