The man had a sudden desire to run for his life to the Rolls-Royce, but then a strange sort of peace came over him and he remained where he was. And he said slowly, Hello Paul. Do you live in the Sea of Green?
No, replied the walrus, I live in the Sea of Holes. He bowed politely and disappeared back into the sparkling green waters.
Just then his attention was drawn to a large yellow sea monster of some sort. What on earth is that? he managed to ask, forgetting that he was not exactly on earth.
That, Jude replied, Is the Yellow Submarine and we are going to take a ride on it.
The man said nothing but watched with fascination as Jude began walking across the green waters to the submarine. He had a calm and cool air about him as if it were an every day occurrence. He turned and made motions with his hands for the man to follow. Timidly he did so and found that the water held him as well.
Once seated in the plush yellow submarine, looking out the window, the man noted, The sea is so green and the sky is so blue. The submarine is so yellow, but there is nothing red.
Oh no? I shall fix that immediately, Jude told him. How about having a strawberry?
That sounds good, the man said. Strawberries are me favorite food.
Have all you want, Jude replied, But why dont you begin with only one.
He called the young pretty hostess over to them and ordered two strawberries. When she returned a few moments later, the man understood why Jude had ordered only one strawberry for each of them. The strawberries were the size of softballs! He discovered that not only was it the biggest he had ever seen, it was by far the sweetest, reddest, and most delicious he had ever tasted.
Where do these strawberries come from? he asked in awe as he finished the juicy red wonder.
Jude answered, Youll find out soon enough. When they got off the submarine on the far shore, the man saw what he had meant. It looked as if there were strawberry fields forever. They stretched endlessly for miles bearing strawberries that averaged the size of softballs. The vines were so big that they looked more like trees.
A blue Mercedes Benz waited for them. Jude and the older man climbed in and were soon driving down yet another gorgeous brick street which wound and twisted its way around the strawberry trees.
After a while Jude turned the car off the brick street onto another road. This is called Penny Lane, he told the man. He parked and said, Lets get out and walk for a while.
When the got out of the car, the man realized why it was called Penny Lane. The street was paved with the most shiny copper pennies he had ever seen. They were imbedded in pure silver and everyone of them was laid perfectly. As they walked down Penny Lane, he marveled at the sight. There were cheerful shops lining the street. Jude led the man into the barbers shop and said to the barber, Give this man a haircut.
The barber smiled jubilantly and took his scissors and trimmed off the mans unfashionably long hair to about his shoulders and styled it neatly.
