Rocking Horse Ranch Therapeutic Riding Program
| Riding for the Fall, 2004 session will begin on Monday,
September 20 and continue weekly through Friday, December 10 (except for the week of
November 22-26) for 11 weeks. Lessons are scheduled once per week on weekdays
only until about 5:30. In
case of rain, we will hold grooming/ground school lessons inside the barn. Cost for the
fall
session of lessons will be $165 ($15/lesson) - scholarships are available upon
request. Riders are responsible for payment for the full session of
lessons unless a lesson is cancelled by RHR. There will be a training session for new volunteers on Saturday, September 11 at 10 AM (call the barn that morning in case of rain). Anyone interested can come out to Blue Banks Farm at that time - be prepared to work around the horses - wear suitable clothes and sturdy shoes. Minimum age to assist directly in the lesson program is 14. We will review general barn policies and safety procedures. New volunteers will have an opportunity to practice sidewalking (no experience with horses is required), and also grooming and leading if they have the requisite horse experience. All volunteers are asked to commit to giving the program a minimum of 1 hour per week (at a mutually agreeable scheduled time) for the duration of the fall session. For more information, call the barn office at 752-0153. |
