I'm in my mid-50s, single, a really proud parent and grandparent. God and family are the most important things in my life.
Most of my life has been spent dreaming about living close to the land, utilizing nature and adding my skills to provide a simple, satisfying and healthy life.
Along the way during the past half-century I just never seemed to get the plan going full speed. Now it's time.
I have a small lot, less than a quarter of a city block, in a tiny town in eastern Kansas. The Kansas City metropolitan area is an easy hour's drive away. There's sufficient retail shopping within a few minutes' drive.
I currently work in an office, managing payroll and computer systems for the local county government.
My goals include making my home off-grid, raising most of my own food, supplementing with a few small animals and reducing the need for cash to the barest levels.
I hope to use this site as the bulletin board for my developing life, and I hope to meet some new friends here. Maybe I can contribute to your life and I hope you will be willing to contribute to mine. The sharing of knowledge through experience is a really cool thing to me.
