About Your Local KONOS Rep

Martha Krebeck

I am the local KONOS Rep for the Illinois area.  We have used KONOS throughout our eight years of homeschooling our two daughters.

Before moving to the Northern Illinois area in 1999, I served as District Director for the state homeschool support group in Florida, Florida Parent-Educators Association.   Prior to that I served as one of the leaders for the homeschool support group, ENOCH, located in North Port, Florida.

KONOS was an answer to prayer for our family.  When Victoria was in Kindergarten we chose to use the typical textbook curriculum.  After several months of the boring seat work, we decided that there must be a better way to learn.

My sister gave me the KONOS curriculum a year prior to that, but I thought it looked too overwhelming.  I shelved it.  At that time I pulled the Vol. I off the shelf and gave it a good dusting.  I checked out the Plants unit study under Patience since we were beginning to plant our Florida winter garden.  I thought, we can do this.  I can put a sweet potato in a jar of water and watch it grow roots. This isn't so bad.

That summer I went to the Creating the Balance Seminar.   God works in tremendous ways when our hearts are in the right place.  I thought I wanted to co-op but didn't know where to find a suitable family with similar beliefs.  My partner was there in the same room all along.  We each traveled an hour to get to the seminar and found out we lived only one mile from each other.  We co-oped for three and a half years.

Since making the move north, we have experienced KONOS with several different families.  What a blessing!

Again, KONOS was a great answer to prayer for our family.  I pray it will be an answer for your family as well.
