Again I am unsure, it is one of Andy's favourite websites which is why I chose to avoid it. That means it will probably be sick

UPDATE 05.10.2002
Welcome to the new website folks!. September was been a pretty rank month, it was really busy and pretty sad.

First of all, my Dad's budgie died and went to Budgie Heaven in a Calippo box. Secondly, I had to visit an Art Exhibition in Edinburgh and review a guy who they call "The best artist of the 21st Century". To be honest, I thought he had cataracts! His work was crap.

So doing 3000 word Essays and being depressed at the loss of Wee Billy is my excuse for the lateness of the website.

Apologies also to those who were gullable enough to believe that Dave was REALLY leaving. We were only joking you fools!

We also have a Fancy Dress gig on Friday November 16th with SAZ and HENNISI at Westport Bar and have others in the pipeline. So check back regularly to keep up-to-date with new gigs and stuff!

AND STILL IS!
UPDATE 24.10.02
I have to begin this update by apologising for misleading those who had planned to come to the SAZ and HENNISI gig as the date is actually Saturday 16th November when it takes place. I had advertised it as taking place on the Friday, which was false.

However, once again I am riled, this is beneficial as it seems that people find me more humorous in this state. Last week I received several E-Mails offering me cheap viagra. I sent them an E-Mail telling them that they were really getting on my tits and not to send any more of the E-Mails. So, I checked my E-Mails this week and my Inbox was full of E-Mails advertising Life Insurance instead, I haven't even left home yet!

Anyway, onto bigger things (as if that's possible). SAZ have informed us that those who plan to come to the Fancy Dress show should be in Fancy Dress attire (which will mean Andy and Cat will come dressed as usual). If you are not in Fancy Dress then we will presume that you are sexually-deprived and are only there to get your cheap thrills at the young innocent ladies in their Skinny Fit Costumes. So dress up and you will get a quid off, which will buy you quarter of a pint! Also, we are on stage first which was suggested by Westport Bar. The plan is that the clientel hear us and race to the Bar to get wasted. I know, I was impressed when I heard that plan too!

Now, just for those who are unsure. SAZ are a girl/boy Rock band who we recommend you see as they are pretty good. HENNISI are also well-liked among our crew, they are a Rock band who will soon be drawing their pension, yet among the hearing aids and rimmer-frames they do churn out some fantastic music.

Now, to future shows. We are once again playing with SAZ at Drouthy Neebors in December with a date yet to be confirmed. We also have a 4 band MetalNight forthcoming which we should be headlining. We may also be doing a gig swap with a band from Edinburgh before the end of the year. If not that will take place at the turn of the year. So make sure you check the website regularly as a lot more will be confirmed soon.

Take Care Y'All..

UPDATE 02.11.02
Hello once again folks. The Saz and Hennisi gig is only a fortnight away now. We hope you can make it down to support DayGone - Dundee crappest band!

We now have a Harris Academy gig photo in our possession for all of you to laugh at. Apparently DayGone was rated highest with 8/10 for the performance. The headline band got 9/10 but didn't finish there set due to a fire alarm and so don't count! However, the Harris Academy website is not displaying the reviews for the following reason...

"We had intended to publish reviews of each of the bands involved in the gig. However, the event has stirred some controversy and resulted in three different, and very varied, sets of reports being sent to the webteam." It went on to say...

"The website has no intention of promoting disharmony among pupils (although there is no harmony anyway - Ewan). The webmaster has therefore decided that none of these reports will be sent online."

Oh well. Nevermind. We will be getting the review this week anyway and as a result "promoting disharmony among pupils!" Haw Haw.

Take Care folks. We hope to see you all on the 16th.
UPDATE 17.11.02
On Saturday 16th November DayGone had to pull-out of the gig at Westport Bar due to equipment problems. Sadly, there seemed no way to rectify the problem and Dave informed us that he could not play under the conditions while the band sat prepared to sound check. It was not a collective band decision which made pulling-out even harder. We also would have liked to have informed people of the decision personally but we were so shattered with the whole fiasco that this is only beneficial in hindsight.

However, we will be back in practice tomorrow and hope that the December show will still go ahead for those of you who still like us.

DayGone would collectively like to thank Saz and Hennisi for being so understanding and extend a full apology to those who came to see us for their support. We are truly sorry. Had the band known any earlier of problems we would have informed as many people as possible but alas we only discovered this 20 minutes before we were meant to play.
UPDATE 22.11.02
To all DayGone fans...

A wise old man with a big grey beard once said that "all good things come to an end."

This is just a quick update to say DayGone is being laid to rest. Dave decided he wanted to move on and pursue music in other directions and presumably to move out of Dundee and go to Music College.

Mike, Andy and Ewan have decided to stay together and will be practicing with another guitarist this coming Monday as usual. It is likely though, that any future projects will be pursued under a different name. However, we will be maintaining the website and uploading all of the forthcoming material we already promised as well as updating news of any forthcoming projects which the remaining members indulge in.

On a final note, DayGone would like to wish Dave well in the future with all musical endeavours and thank him for his time and energy in DayGone which was a pleasurable ride while it lasted!

To the future in Metal...

UPDATE 11.12.02
DayGone are back!

As ridiculous as it may sound DayGone have returned from the brink of nothingness after three weeks to spread their music throughout the Dundee scene.

Dave has decided to stay in Dundee and rejoin DayGone and as a result Mike, Dave and Andy are back to practice. However, drummer Ewan Gurr has decided to move on and pursue work towards Art College but in the meantime is working on a Thrash Metal band called KONDEMNED. However, he would like to thank all those for their support and to the band who were a pleasure to work with during this time and contributed to making the last 16 months so memorable.

www.kondemned.co.uk

DayGone will hopefully be gigging again in a few months time!

As for the website, The Sick and Twisted World of Cat and Andy will be uploaded very soon, once the pics are in order, but thereafter the website will be left here for nostalgia purposes if anything else. No updates will take place beyond this point.

Take Care!
