Quick with his tongue and utterly insecure, Beast Boy will do anything for a laugh... anything.
Although Beast Boy is pretty darn funny, sometimes he leaves other laughing "at" him instead of "with" him. If only he didn't try so hard, Beast Boy would discover the he's cool just the way he is.

When life deals you tragedy after tragedy a person can either become withdrawn and introvert or overly outgoing to compensate for the insecurity one would feel. Beastboy is the later. He is constantly desperate to be the center of attention and cannot stand the thought of anyone disliking him. The saying "If you don't laugh you'll cry." is the one that Beastboy lives by.
He looks for happiness in frivolous and passing things but desperately needs stability. He also needs to realise that he doesn't need to try so hard, or to put on such a front to be liked.

Powers: Beastboy has the power of every beast that is (or was) under the sun at his fingertips. In a split second he can instantly become any creature of his choosing.
Cute morphs such a adorable little kittens can be very handy when he wants to get his own way and a giant T-Rex has the power needed for combat.
Beastboy also seems to have the ability to freeze his morphs in the middle, creating an anthromorphic type creature, but this has only been seen once, briefly.

History: Beastboy's parents - Mark and Marie Logan, were Biologists. They took their blond haired, blue eyed, toddler-sized son (who was named Garfield at the time) with them to the African country of Upper Lamumba, where they were conducting research on genetic codes. Gar soon came down with a rare tropical disease that only animals were thought to survive. Desperate to save his only child Professor Logan treated Gar with an untested machine, which he originally developed to isolate the common genetic bond shared between humans and animals. Garfield recovered from the disease but a side effect of the treatment turned his skin green.

Many years later, Marie Logan was threatened by a deadly Black Mamba snake. Gar's desire to save his mother unlocked his powers, changing him into a mongoose.

Garfield's parents died in a tragic boating accident several years later, an incident which Gar still feels he could have prevented.

Gar then joined the Teen Titans where he changed his name to 'Beastboy'.
