There seems to be an awful lot of confusion about how to get to heaven these days. I won't lie to you, it is a narrow path and sometimes it gets pretty hard. A lot of people want to see proof that God exists, but really the proof is all around. The proof is in everything you see and can't see; from the stars at night to the atoms-invisible to the naked eye. Before people knew what atoms were, they existed; but nobody could prove they were there. No one sees God, but that doesn't mean He's not there (Romans 1:18-20). But one day the intangible will be tangible. Everyone will see and know that there really is one true God.

But how does one get to know God? There's a lot of confusion about that too. There's one way to know God and that's through His Son-Jesus. Everyone is separated from God because of sin, but good news, Jesus actually died a horrible death on the cross so that our sins could be wiped away (somebody had to do it, and He was the only One that was-and is-perfect). He would have done that even if you were the only one who needed it. The way to get to know God is to realize that we are permanently separated from Him because of our sins(and everyone has sinned - Romans 3:10-12 and Romans 3:23 ) and believe that Jesus is the only One that can save us from our sins. If you believe this, then you can ask Jesus to take away (forgive) your sins and ask Him to come into your heart and change your life. He's only a prayer away!

You just need to say a prayer something like this: "I'm sorry for my sins, Jesus. Please come into my heart and life and make a permanent change in me. Teach me and guide me and be with me forever. Thank you Jesus. Amen (Romans 10:9-11). Then read your Bible (go get one if you don't have one) and pray everyday. And - find a good church that preaches about the Bible the way it is.
