Launch Control Systems

Simple Relay Control - Single Pad

Circuit Diagram-

This circuit is a simple relay control for a single pad.  One high current double throw single pole relay is used.  The relaxed contact (nc) is used to provide a safe indication for the relay position.  If the safe led is lit then the contacts have successfully disengaged from the fire position.  If the safe led is dark then there is a possibility that the relay is stuck in the fire position and must be checked before further use.  The power led indicates that power is available for use.  The continuity led indicates whether there is continuity through the igniter or not.  The 1k ohm resistor keeps the current through the igniter at a safe level until the fire circuit is engaged.  Note: This is no substitute for independent checking of the circuit prior to use, e.g. spark check prior to igniter hook-up.  Common-sense safe practices should always be used.
