15 Gallon Freshwater

This tank has a good history behind it. It was my first tank, I received it as a kid when I was maybe 5 years old. At first I had maybe...5 goldfish in it. It was a surprise for me from my little (3-year-old) brother and Mother. I was actually pretty excited. 2 or 3 of the goldfish even lived for a few years, (unless that was my mom replacing them...but I doubt it.) After that the tank was placed into storage. Meanwhile, our family kept what was probably a 45-55 Gallon tank with Piranhas in it downstairs in the family room, (how my brother and I didn't break that, I'll never know.)

In late 2002 I busted the tank out of storage and started it up as guppy breeding tank. I added 20 or so Guppy feeders and waited. In the first few days a lost a few Guppies, but nothing serious. Finally, about February 2003, the Guppies finally gave birth. They kept breeding until I removed all the adults and placed them in the 60 Gallon, while leaving the various fry in the 15 Gallon. Eventually, I added more fry from the 60 Gallon as they were born. About June 2003, I put all the adults and children back in the 15 Gallon. 2 weeks later they were all dead, except for one, (who is still alive as of July 31st, 2003.) I could find nothing wrong with the water - it's still a mystery...there were maybe 30 guppies in there.

I plan on using the 15 Gallon as a grow-out tank for Convict fry born in the 20 Gallon. So far, I plan on removing the fry 2-3 weeks after they are born.
