We
offer this spot on our website to help place more animals who may, otherwise, be
dropped off at overcrowded shelters (which can be scary places at
times). THESE ARE NOT ROCKET DOG RESCUE
ANIMALS; they are independently cared
for.
Rocket Dog Rescue makes
no claims to or for these animals or their personalities; however, we do ask that they have no aggressive history
before placing them on our website.
Rocket Dog Rescue is always willing to offer
advise, moral support or references (e.g. doggie daycare, obedience classes,
etc.) to the rescuers & to those who wish to adopt these
animals.
To find out more about the animals listed on
this page -
Please contact the

This
page is dedicated to all those good samaritans who independently rescue animals
& seek help placing them.
Rocket Dog Rescue commends you for giving your time & effort in helping
save these often tossed aside animals.
Your kindness will forever be remembered in the hearts of those animals that
you helped put on a path to a better life.
We thank you!
NOTE: Due to the inability to determine whether or not animals have been
adopted, we must begin a 2 week posting policy. Animals will be posted here
on the Independents Page for 2 weeks (this period begins when the animal is
on the web - an expiration date will be included) In order to extend the period,
a notice MUST be sent to:
[email protected]
requesting that the animal(s) remain on the site for another 2 weeks (another
request must be made each period until the animal is adopted). No reminders
will be sent - this is strictly the responsibilty of the the foster care provider.

DECCA
She is about 2 years old, and has been fixed.
Behavior - Used to being around our 2 year old daughter and Cat. She likes to
play with the cat, but obviously we don't let her because of her size. She loves
to run. I have been leash training her for the past week and she is doing well.
She is not agressive towards other dogs, unless the dogs have shown agression
towards her first. She has never bitten anyone or another dog.
Currently we keep her outside during the day, because of our living situation,
and we bring her in at night, due to the cold weather. She has a specific place
to be and stays there throughout the night until I take her out in the morning.
We don't want to get rid of her, but unfortunatley, due to our living situation
and moving around she is a little too much to handle, and we feel like it is
not fair to her. Since the economy is bad, we don't know were we will be ending
up, we feel that she would be much happier in a home were people are around
more often for attention. Thanks

AMADEA
is a 6 month old Aussie/Boxer mix that was rescued from the animal
shelter. She gets along with other dogs and loves to play with them! She likes
cats as well but tries to play with them when she can't find a dog or human
do that with. She loves to play ball and swim. Amadea is spayed and current
on vaccines. She would benifit from an obedience class. Amadea is cratetrianed
and house broken as well, For more information please contact Lydia (707)
994-0123 or by e-mail [email protected]
I need to find to find homes for both of my girls which are spayed and house
broken. LhasaPoo is tan born Sept.1991, has all her papers
and vaccinations. Maltese is white born Aug. 1993, has all
her papers and vaccinations.
I have been the only owner. I am in a very difficult situation.
I have a pit bull - boxer mix in need of a home. His name is Max, and he's a
two year old male dog about 65 pounds. His mother was found giving birth in
the middle of a street in Oakland and was brought to a vet friend of mine to
assist in the birthing. Max was one of four puppies. He was initally stuck in
his mother's womb, had to be pulled out and was born limp and blue. He was quickly
revived and has grown to be quite the boy. He was adopted as a puppy, but his
mother recently left with no forwarding address and his father had to relocate
quickly and could not find a dog-friendly place on short notice, so he has chosen
to place Max in a new home. Max is friendly with people and dogs, gentle and
quite sensitive. I'm fostering him now, but my own dog is not pleased with the
situation, so I am looking for a foster through some other resources and if
you have anyone who could help that would be great too. I'd like to find out
information on getting your help to place him. Please contact me at 415-385-8425.
I've attached a photo of him.
Thanks for your help!

JAKE
Jake was sadly abandoned in a remote area and tied to a post without food or
water on a very, very hot day. I can¹t understand how a loving and loyal
lifelong companion can be cruelly discarded in this manner but this has not
affected Jake¹s remarkable joy of life and extremely happy temperament
one bit! He wears a perpetual smile on his face and loves any and all people
at first sight. Jake is always ready to be your friend and, what¹s more,
show you how fun it is to take him for a walk. He is a very energetic fellow
and
would make an excellent hiking or running buddy. Jake would also love to be
in a home with people who like to play as much as he does because, after all,
he is MR. FUN personified! He weighs 75 pounds, is neutered and in excellent
health, and comes from a Vizala background with a few other ingredients in his
heritage. Come and see JAKE at the Amador Animal Shelter in Jackson and I guarantee
that this big lug will win your heart. For more info, contact Jim at

LAZY
GIRL
Sweet, innocent, loving, wonderful temperament our beautiful LAZY GIRL
captures the essence of these descriptions. She is an unusually sweet and
affectionate little dog who recently lost the love of her life and kennelmate,
Suds, but through the very happy circumstances of adoption. Lazy was very
sad for a couple of days but now she is her own upbeat and joyful self once
again. You just can¹t keep a good girl down! Lazy is a great people dog
and she is just as good with other dogs. We have tested her with numerous
males and females and she was always very friendly and happy to see them while
never showing any signs of aggression. Our whole shelter staff, volunteers
and Animal Control alike believe that Lazy is a very special dog who
should fit easily into most families. She is quite intelligent, eager to please,
and will quickly learn the rules of a new household. Lazy is a 2 year old
Pit Terrier who is very healthy, spayed, current on all shots, and has been
heartworm tested. She¹s ready to leave our shelter at a
moment¹s notice so why not give her that home she has always dreamed
about? Hurry, Lazy is waiting for you at the Amador Animal Shelter in Jackson
so please contact Jim at [email protected] or (209) 296-6856 if you would
like
more information on this delightful lady. Our adoption fee is $45 which is
a bargain for this beautiful little life.

MAGGIE
MAE
MAGGIE is a VERY CUTE and lovely little 10 month old Pit Terrier sweetheart
who is greatly liked by everyone at our shelter. Why is she so special? Ok,
ok, I can tell you¹re going to be a hard sell BUT look at those neat, perky
ears of hers, one up and one down - always. Also, have you ever seen a dog smile
like her? She has a perpetual grin on her face which gets twice as wide when
she sees you. Her very distinctive and very cute black eye is Maggie¹s
very own trademark and believe it or not no other dog in our shelter has one
quite like it. Maggie¹s physical features are truly unique but secondary,
however, to her very sweet and cheery personality. She is fun to walk
she gets so happy and a pleasure to sit with while dwindling away the
hours. She relishes her time with the volunteers and the feeling is mutual.
If you would like a special little dog to be a part of your family, you can
see Maggie at the Amador Animal Shelter in Jackson. Maggie is very healthy,
has been spayed, heartworm tested, and is current with all shots. Please contact
Jim if you would like any additional information on my girl at
[email protected]
or (209) 296-6856. You can also call the shelter direct at (209) 223-6378.
