Quidditch is the most popular sport in the wizarding world. This is how you play:
You play on a flying broomstick over a field called the pitch. On both ends of the pitch, ther are three hoops right next to each other. Each hoop is 50 feet of the ground. The three hoops on one side of the pitch are 1 team's.The three hoops on the other side of the pitch are the other team's.
There are 4 balls in Quidditch. There are 7 players on each Quidditch team.
On each team there are 3 people named chasers. The chasers throw a red ball named the Quaffle back and forth and try to throw it into one of the other team's three hoops. For every Quaffle the chasers throw into the other team's hoops, their team gets 10 points.
On each team there is a person who gaurds his or her's team's three hoops from the other team's 3 chasers trying to throw the Quaffle into it. The person who gaurds thier teams 3 hoops is called a keeper.
In Quidditch, ther are two black balls named the Bludgers. The Bludgers fly around by themselves trying to knock players from both teams of their broom. If you get hit by a Bludger, you might have to go to a hospital, it really hurts.
On each team there are two players named the beaters. Each beater has a club in his hand. The beaters job is to protect their teammates from the Bludgers. If a Bludger is close to one of the beater's teamates, the beater would try and hit the Bludger away with the club.
The final ball in Quidditch is the Golden Snitch. It is a gold, walnut-sized ball with wings. It flies around at a superfast speed.
The 7th player on a Quidditch team is the seeker. The seeker's job is to try and catch the unbelievably fast Golden Snitch before the seeker on the other team does.Once the seeker on either team has caught the Golden Snitch, the game is over. The team that the seeker who caught the Golden Snitch was on gets an additional 150 points and almost always wins the game. The team with the most amount of points at the end of the game wins.
