My Review of The Harry Potter Movie
Overall Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone was a good movie, but I don't think it lived up to the book.In the movie, there are very good special effects. One example of that is when the bricks behind the Leaky Cauldron open up to Diagon Alley. But the movie cut out alot of scenes from the book. The beginning of the movie is somewhat a blur. One scond Harry is in the cabin on the rock in the sea. Then Harry is in Diagon Alley. Next, King's Cross Station and the Hogwarts Express. After on the Hogwarts Express, the movie picks up. When the year at Hogwarts begins, the movie is kind of fun.I think the Quidditch game could have been better. The backround in the game was very fake. I think the game could have been longer too.
Since the movie cut out a lot of scenes from the book, some characters had very small roles. In the book, Fred and George (Ron's older twin brothers) had reasonably large roles. They were hardly even in the movie!! I can really only remember them in the Great Hall during the feasts and in the Quidditch game. Some teachers like Prof.Sprout weren't even in the movie. But, like I said the movie was pretty good. All of the actors/actresses played their role exceptionally well.
