| Protect Your Hearing I know that having your hearing is essential for everyday life. This is especially true if you are a musician and/or an avid concert attendee. What some people don't realize is that hearing damage is permanent; once it's gone, it's never coming back. I myself had a scare, and it definitely sent me in for a reality check. Click here to find safety tips. My advice is wearing powerful earplugs (not foam) and - as dorky as you think it looks - earmuffs. Yes, earmuffs. Or, if you have some powerful headphones, reach for those. That may be even better. Stand as far away from the amps/instruments as possible, too, if you're the one watching the show. You may think that drowning out the sound will make you unable to "feel" it. What happens when you just can't hear the sound at all anymore?
