| Every year my family takes a vacation to Mammoth lakes, California . My first trip was when I was 5 months old, and i've been going every year since then. It is the perfect place to camp, fish mountain bike and , four wheel . This year Josh, and steve went up with us to hit the trails. As far as extreme wheeling goes there is not much around mammoth, but there are tons of trails winding through the forest where any vehicle can enjoy the outdoors. Although one trail we took required 4 wheel drive and High ground clearance. This trail was the Loral Lake trail. It is 4 1/2 miles in and 4 1/2 miles out. The road is winding up into the mountains accross some rocks and steep inclines. The view is magnificent all the was up , as you can stop by a creek and see the water falls comming down from the lake. Once you reach the summit you can look down on the most clear lake ever, Loral Lake. In all the year i've been going to mammoth I've never seen been there . You can then drive down to the lake and park next to the water. There is a little passage way through the bushes which leeds you out on a little paninsala on the lake. A perfect spot to relax or camp the night. This was a wonderful trail with a spectacular view . If you are in the Mammoth Lakes area you have to check it out. No more talking , heres the pictures. |
