Break of Day

I left my soul to dry
In this life's softest heat
I picked up my shadow
And brought it to my feet
So certain of another life
I'd never been before
My thoughts started to mingle
And oh, my soul was getting sour
I lifted my head
As the water straightened my steps
Salty sunlight fell freely
Down upon my head
I missed another day in life
By travelling too far
I'd never seen their true faces
I wonder where they are...
