Even though England started off the one day series in New Zealand on a losing note from a humiliating batting collapse Darren still managed to blast away the Kiwis middle order, taking 4 Wickets in just under 2 overs! By taking on this new stint of excellent form and Andy Caddick hardly triggering any nerves in the New Zealand team he has caused Nasser and Duncan Fletcher to take a re-think over the New Zealand test side.
Originally Caddick was to be the only 'experienced' test bowler in the team, Darren was forced to miss out after quite rightly deiciding not to participate in India. Personally as i have stated before i thought this was rather harsh by the seletors after seeing them allow Graham Thorpe a rest from the International Team. However due to Caddys lack of form the England Management have decided to give the idea of leaving Goughie out of the team a re-think. Hopefully he will be back in the team,but you never know! I will keep my fingers crossed! |
