The Phillies started their first season in 1994 in the RMSBL. Three years later they saw the light and joined
the NABA. There are still 4 members of the original team, Michael Martella, Ed Renica, Joe Giangreco and Gary Drake. Ed Renica, who did hit a dramatic game tying home run at Doubleday Field two seasons ago
currently co-manages the team with Steve Ruffino. With some new additions to the roster in 2007, the Phillies are a team on the rise. The Phillies are made up of old time ball players that play hard on and off the
field. With the support of family and friends, the team will continue to play the game as long as their bodies let them.

Phillies make some new additions for 2007:
The Phillies are sporting a younger look in 2007. Some holes have been filled and with Andy Rizzo sidelined for most of the 2006 season, 2007 should be a strong year. On the mound Andy will allow much more depth and relieve after Steve Ruffino carried the load from 2006 on the mound. In addition the Phillies have added Matt Delly, Jim Delly, Tim Fadden, Mike Dimidjian, Dave Herbster and Vinnie Dallo to the roster.

Matt Delly comes to the Phillies along with his brother Jim Delly to give a strong up the middle combination. Both have a strong bat and look to hold down the middle of the line up. Tim Fadden comes to the Phillies from Albany where he attended Herkimer along with Matt. Tim gives the phillies a steady bat and some well needed speed in Centerfield. Mike Dimidjian recently moved to town from Boston where he has been playing softball for the past 6 years. Mike was looking to get back in the swing of thing here in Rochester after being out of the game for a while. Mike played some pro ball years back in the Expos organization and will be a great addition to the Phillies where he will be behind the plate and at first base. Dave Herbster was a late addition in 2006 for the Phillies. Dave has been playing fast pitch softball for the past few years but the Phillies are looking forwar to his speed and glove in the field. Once the feeling comes back to plate Dave will fit in well and watch out when he gets on. Vinnie Dallo has been in the RMSBL for the past few years and was looking to get in a few extra games. The Phillies will look to Vinnie on a part time basis but when he is in the line up his bat will be a great addition as well as versatility in the field where he can play anywhere.
