May 6th vs Cubs:
Phillies take season opener from Cubs 4-2. Andy Rizzo picked up the win going 6 2/3 innings while stricking out 4. The Phillies got going when Dave Herbster singled in Jim Delly with the first run of the game in the second inning.
May 20th vs Bulldogs
The Phillies battled the defending champion Bulldogs to a close 3-0 loss at Fairport. The Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead in the top of the 5th when Joe Reina hit a 2 run homer. The Buldogs added another run in the 9th when Jim Grassley singled and endup scoring on a fielders choice. The Buldogs have a great team on the mound and at the plate. It was a great game on both ends of scorecard. The Phillies gave it there all but couldn't come through when runners where in scoring possition. Andy Rizzo gave up 2 runs and struck out 4 in the loss and Steve Ruffino pitched 4 innings of relief giving up 1 run, stricking out 4 and picking off 2. Tim Fadden was 1-3 in the Phillies Loss.
