T-80 UK
Background
The Soviets usually create a command version of their standard
tanks, and the T-80 series was no exception. The ratio of command tanks to combat tanks is 1 to 30.
Description
The T-80UK is mechanically identical to the T-80U in most respects, however it has less internal space due to the extra radios and other electronics carried. The side effect of this is that the ammo capacity is limited to 30 main gun rounds and 750 rounds of 7.62mmL for the coaxial machine gun. The most visible difference between the UK version and the U version is the 3 additional radio antennas - 2 4 meter antennas (1 UHF, 1 HF) and 1 11 meter telescoping antenna (HF/UHF) which is erected during halts and stored in a tube over the transmission during movement. The UK version also carries additional electronics including a 3-position navigation system, a plotting board, a gyro-compass, control panel, and aiming circle. The tank also has a 1.0 Kw generator (with self-contained power supply). The tank (designed for battalion and regimental commanders, who direct the battle from the rear) is equipped with the ability to fire EhDKV rounds, equipped with electronic remote control proximity fuzes. The T-80 UK is also equipped with an advanced thermal sight (with a range of 2,600 meters). The tank can fire the AT-11 Sniper missile, just like the stock version of the T80-U. The vehicle is NBC sealed and has 4 81mm smoke dischargers capable of firing in any direction.

** This round is a electronic remote control proximity
fuzes. These can only be fired from specially equipped tanks (T- 80UK) at a rate of 4 rds/minute. The tank lazes
(or enters the range into the system manually) then programs the warhead to detonate at a certain distance or time,
or detonates the warhead by remote control. This round is basically a artillery round fired from the 125mm main
gun.
