<At 1435, an explosion in the damaged sector of the village signals the arrival of the enemy. One of the villagers in the barn spots a dust cloud to the north. Another explosion about 20 meters closer than the first happens about a minute after the first.>

CPT Wolfe says "Well boys? We gonna move the hell out of here, or we gonna go save Pvt Ryan? Either way, I wanna kill someone!" He then heads rummage around in his humvee for some stuff for an ambush, just in case.

SGM Stewart says "Well I would like to get out of town before they drop a round on me and ruin my day. I suggest that we head out of town and then take inventory of the situation
before we decide to take on the ass holes. A recon of their strength would be a good start? Ill go take a look if you guys want but I will need someone with some comm. gear to come along for the ride?" as he heads for the nearest vehicle.

Lee ducks as the explosion rocks the village, then approaches the two other captains, "Look, I don't know how you guys run things in your unit, and I don't want to seem like I'm stealing your limelight. I suggest we pull back to the woods, wait and see what the enemy has. From what it sounds like, we're outnumbered and outgunned. We'll pull back 1 klick into the woods and observe. If they follow us, and I'm hoping they do, we can bushwhack them in the woods."

Lee then looks at Sgt. Stewart "You, sergeant, you just volunteered to be our scout. Take what you need and go check out the two individuals to the south."

Lee then looks at Ikeman "You, Ikeman, go with him."

"Ok everyone mount up, lets get moving!"

SFC Ikeman shouts "roger" as he follows SGM Stewart. He throws his ruck onto the truck and put his rifle in his shoulder and moves at a crouched run. He shouts to SGM Brantley "Pitch me the radio!" as he runs by.

SGM Brantley tosses the 2km radio to SFC Ikeman as he runs to catch up with SGM Stewart. Brantley then jumps behind the wheel of Big Bertha and fires it up.

As everyone piles into the vehicles, Lee stands up in the door of the duece to get a better view of the situation. He can see a 2 BTRs about 2 klicks out, and several other unidentifiable vehicles beyond them. He then shouts to CPT Wolfe "what are we getting hit with?"

Wolfe shouts back "Mortars! No Whistle!" as screams "GO GO GO!!!" to SSG Martinez.

Lee takes the lead in the Red Star duece (the captured one) and everyone follows his lead to a point about a klick south of the village (about halfway to the farmhouse that the individuals were spotted at).

About 300m north of the farm Ikeman calls a quick halt. He turns to SGM Stewart and says "how do you want to approach the farm? One of us on the perimeter, covering or both move in?"

<The sound of an explosion in the village causes the sniper to make himself one with the dirt. The sniper then bolts to his feet and rushes through the door, hoping nobody is home.

Kartz eases the safety off on the '60 and glances at his watch: 1435...

Ingle watches the sniper eat dirt, then glances at his watch...just after 1430, and it sounds like the village has some unwelcome visitors.>

Ingle watches the guy who dived through the door very carefully, trying to determine which side he's on. He watches the farmhouse for the sniper, and eases the crosshairs onto his head as the sniper eases to the window looking north. The sniper flips back his veil and Ingle catches a glimpse of a green beret with a flash (can't tell what it looks like). Ingle mutters to himself "looks like one of ours...I'll keep an eye on him just in case." Ingle then readies his Armbrust, just in case anything comes down the road.

CPT Whitedog glances about the farmhouse, looking for any sign of life. From the looks of the place, no one has lived here in a few months...the farmer probably moved into the village for protection. Satisfied that he's alone in the house, Whitedog eases back to the window and flips back his veil so he can get a better view. He brings his PSG-1 up to his shoulder, ready to pop anyone that crosses his field of fire.

SFC Kartz, with his finger on the trigger, debates whether or not to move forward...he thinks "the Cap'n said 'IF I take fire'...Kartz decides to hold tight and keep the horses calm.

<A quick hand signal to Gunn draws his attention to the truck.

The truck looks like a 5-ton cargo, and is on the west side of the road, facing north. The tarp is still over the bed, and there are no obvious signs of fresh combat around it.>

Pickett looks at Gunn and put his hand on his head and silently mouths to "cover my move".

Once he's sure he had Gunns rodger for the signal; Pickett then does his best low crouch slow approach of the vehicle. Staying in the tree line, lookin for big thick trees to leap frog behind.

As Pickett approaches the truck, he uses his binocs to look for steam from the radiator, visible leaks under the vehicle, movement in the vehicle under the dash, in the bed of the truck, movement under the truck. Wanting to make sure he's not surprising someone making quick repairs or taking a quick nap.

As Pickett nears the truck, he catches a flash of movement near the rear of the truck. He instantly dives behind cover and clicks the safety of his CAW off. Gunn picks up on Pickett's movement. Gunn then slowly begins a wide sweep around the truck.

<Smith mutters to himself "I should avoid this truck altogether, but I'm sick of walking. If nothing else I may be able to scrounge something useful off it" as he checks the chamber of his M16 and slowly moves in on the truck.>

Gary eyes the passenger seat windows for a bit, staring for signs of motion, or movement. After being reassured that at least the front seats were secure, SFC Smith begins inching in towards the truck's position, making sure that he keeps his body mass low, and his gun slung at waist level, locked and loaded. Gary heads towards the back of the truck, taking tiny steps in the process and straining his ears for any visible cues or sounds. In moments, he is side by side the truck's back entrance, ready to swing over and enter. After taking a shallow breath, Gary swings over to the side, gun leveled out against the contents of the compartment and peers inside, although trying not to reveal too much body mass. Gary looks around cautiously, gun ready.

SFC Smith's eyes focus in the dimly lit bed of the truck, revealing that the bed contains nothing more than a few blood stained bandages.
