While the everyone else makes final preparations for movement, Cutter and Brantley sneak down to the road for a
peek. A quick examination of the road confirms the fact that the vehicle was in fact a duece and a half (based
on tread pattern, truck width, ect). Further recon of the immediate area turns up nothing. They arrive back in
camp just as everyone is finishing up their preparations.
Cutter reports to CPT Cappanetti that it was a duece and the area is clear. CPT Cappanetti responds "good,
but I don't want to take any chances, keep your eyes peeled as we move." He then points out the location of
the village. The village is about 20km west-southwest. Everyone plots it on their maps and CPT Wolfe plots a general
route that he discusses with CPT Cappanetti. Based on the terrain and the tactical situation, it should take about
4 hours to reach the destination (should reach the village about 0800).
Satisfied, CPT Cappanetti tells everyone to mount up, when everyone is ready, he keys the mike and says "Move
out."
The lead humvee (SGM Martinez driving, CPT Wolfe gunning) moves out heading west along the road. The duece follows
1.5 klicks back, followed by the trail (Mk19) humvee (SGM Brantley driving, SSG Cutter gunning), a half klick behind
the duece.
About 5 klicks from base camp, CPT Wolfe yells "TARGET!!! Range 100 meters to our rear, north side of road!
Looks like a duece."
