SFC Kartz
This is the story of Kartz, James A. He was born in 1951 in Chicago and attended a Catholic grade and high school. He joined the army at the age of 17 and was in the 1st Cav, division. In VietNam he was a '60 gunner for the first two tours he did. He got tired of the combat after that. However, he did excel at fixing the units' vehicles and went to the battalion motor pool. After his third tour he started his career as a REMF and did not look back. He got into small arms repair and really enjoyed that also. Jim, in 1999 was caught in the rear area of the 5th division delivering some supplies when the Polish and Soviets broke through. So he attached him self to the first combat unit to add his combat experience and the rest they say is history..
