The land contains a 10 acre spring-fed pond complete with beaver lodges and a section of the Tunxis Trail, from which there is access to the Mile of Ledges and the historic Tories' Den. Both of these landmarks are on land owned by the Bristol Water Company adjacent to the Brower property. The directors of the Burlington Land Trust want to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Bower, for his 50 year love of the land and his dream of preserving it in its natural state for perpetuity. He and his late wife loved the forest and pond near their house and generously let others enjoy it too by allowing access to the blue-blazed Tunxis Trail that ran on their property. Although receiving many offers to develop the land, he strongly felt that it should be left in its' natural state for the everyone to enjoy.
