PUNTA DEL DIABLO

Location: 298km from Montevideo, by route 9 

Description of the place:

 Punta del Diablo is a little fishermen town located in Rocha (a province inUruguay), surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. Along its  10Kms. of coast, Punta del Diablo offers the tourists a varied range of interests to spend their holidays: hostels, cabins, modern houses, and one  camping. Along the coast you can see typical fishermen huts, where these people live a life far away from pressures of modern society. During the winter only this small town is almost uninhabited, only 350 people live in Punta del Diablo. But it completely changes in summer time, this paradisiac place is visited by a lot of visitors who come from any place of Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Brazil and from all over the world  to enjoy this peacfull and natural enviroment.

Next to Punta del Diablo, there is an ecologhical natural park called "Santa Teresa" which offers a very big camping, with four wonderful long beaches. Visitors here can also visit the  fortress with an historical museum inside it.
