Rules of the Office of Arms

    1. Once granted, arms may only be used by the armiger to whom the arms were originally issued with the following exceptions:

      a. A son or daughter may use the same arms as the parent less the helmet and crest, but this must be petitioned for and granted by the Office of Arms. A mark of cadency must be added to the arms to depict family status.

      b. A wife of an armiger may use the same arms as her husband or may choose to add a mark of cadency depicting her status as a female armiger. The latter must be petitioned for and granted by the Office of Arms.

    2. Arms may be modified as rank or achievement deems necessary. Modifications must be petitioned and granted from the Office of Arms.

    3. Arms may be destroyed if an armiger has been found to have willingly violated the rules of chivalry and/or committed an act which contradicts the tenants of the Royal Order of Chivalry. The Court of Arms will act as the judicial authority on all such matters.
