Trouble Shots
Water Shots
If your ball comes to rest in a shallow creek or pond, the ball still might be playable. The ball must be half in the water, and half out of the water to have any chance of getting the ball out. Otherwide, take your medicine, and take a drop. However, if you want to be risky, here is how to play the shot. Take off your shoes and socks for obvious reasons, and roll up your pant legs. Tuck a town into your pands at your right hip (for righties), so that it hangs down freely down to your right knee. This is the area that is going to get the most wet. With this shot, you just want to advance the ball down the fairtay as mush as possible, so choose your sand wedge. Open up your clubface to dd more loft. Play the shot like a bunker shot. Hit about 2 inches behind the ball, and swing very hard. Make sure that you clear you hips early, so that the water hits your side, and not your front. If you do not feel comfortable with this shot, take a drop. If you want to practice this shot, take a larde tin tray (used for cooking), and fill it up with about a half inch of water. Go in your back yard, or to a park and practice this shot. It could save you a stroke or two!
