| Day Trips | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Our day trips normally consist of about the same thing. We normally ride toward the Blue Ridge Mountians to enjoy the cool breeze and shady roads, of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Many times we leave out of Statesville on I-40 and exit on to Hwy 115 heading north. We take that to Wilkesboro and merge on to Hwy 421 north. Hwy 421 takes you right to one of the Blue Ridge Parkway junctions. From there we have gone north all the way to Maybry's Mill, VA or south to the Linn Cove Viaduct. Either way you choose there are many great overlooks, pull offs and historical sites, to visit or just take a breather. We have also taken trips to many of the state parks in the region such as, Stone Mt., Julian Price, Pilot Mt., and Hanging Rock. Many times we try to plan our day to end up eating at The Depot (Cody Creek) in Dobson, NC. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
