Day 6
Day 6: July 18th 2003
Place: Muir Park Reservoir
Route taken: none
At the end of day five, we found out that we were situated at the parking place of some anglers who went fishing down the little loch. The anglers didnt mind, we had a couple of funny conversations with them! They usually arrived at dusk and dawn, because the trout usually bites well then. One of the men even brought us two trouts! He was so friendly and gave us the fish because he thought we deserved it more than him! We were quite stunned of the friendliness of the Scottish, since I had met the English before. We spend our day lying on the small pier down the loch and singing, playing the pennywhistle solving riddles. Alexander and Ellemieke found a field that was full of wild cotton, so they plucked it and made it into a string. We even spent some hours on unravelling one of Alexanders riddles. Quite some pastime, dont you think?
Since I was not able to walk properly, I crawled like a baby. (My friends teased me a lot, by tapping me on the shoulder and running away, where I couldnt reach them.) I felt quite helpless.
That evening, we had an awesome dinner with rice and trout, freshly picked herbs and vegetables (we ate some roots which were described as edible) and it really tasted amazing!
