"Kate" is a 4 year old 3/4 Arabian/ 1/4 saddlebred mare. She is daughter to Kit (below) and her saddlebred line carries CH Wing Commander and CH Valley View Supreme. Katie's movement has been eye catching since she was born and I have high hopes for her in dressage and driving.
Katie attended the 2005 Iowa Games after 2 months of riding. Thanks to Erin Reece and Michele Kalsem of Kalsem Training for doing such a great job with her.
Kayla is a Percheron/ Arabian cross by Spencers Curly Ben out of Kit. Foaled June 9, 2005 she is growing by leaps and bounds. I couldn't have asked for a better blending of the breeds. Kayla is the most fearless, easy going, quick learning foal I have had the pleasure to work with. A true testiment to the Percherons gentle influence with the beauty and intelligence of the arabian. My up and coming eventer???? We'll see!!!
1981 Quarter horse Gelding
Chester was my first horse and I have had him since I was 10 years old. Chester was the best horse a kid could have, steady and fearless. Sadly he is retired due to navicular disease, but manages to give a few "kiddy" rides here and there.
Chester was recently euthanized due to his inability to keep weight. He will be greatly missed
"Kit" is a 15.1, black-bay, 1992 Arabian Mare. She is a Padron grandaughter and a Ansata Ibn Halima great-grandaughter. She also carries several lines of Witez. Sadly, Kit suffered from a colonic twist requiring emergency surgery on July 29, 2005. Although, her surgery was a success she twisted again 30 days later. It happened overnight and we lost her. Thanks so much to my classmates, professors and friends for doing their very best to help her. She will be missed.
