Ever wanted to storm an interstellar military base and completly decimate everything in your way? Who hasn't? And with Metalstorm this is possible.
Metalstorm puts you in the seat of the M-308 Gunner, the most advanced mobile suit ever created. Not olny is it top of the line in wepoans, but features a unique device allowing you to reverse gravity, that's right folks, reverse gravity. Complete with three upgrades (Including Power Beam, Plasma Sheild, and Fireball Transformer) this suit is baddass. A weapons base on Pluto has been taken over and it's up to you to infiltrate the fortress and single handedly take out the weapons system before they are used to destroy planet Earth!
Along with a cool story, goes cool graphics, the smooth walking of the M-308 is great for the eyes. Metalstorm also features seperatly scrolling backgrounds, all kind of detailed machines, killer huge bosses, laser beams, and a really cool explosion of the M-308, lol.
In addition to all of that, it features some of the best music on the NES. Great techno-ish beats keep the action at an all time high. Special notice should go to the 1st and 3rd levels themes, because they are - in all acounts - truly awesome.
To top this game off you can reverse gravity, which is very easy and natural to do. This adds a whole new level of gameplay to sidescrolling action, and it's a pity we didn't see more games using this idea on the NES.
Six levels of Action, Seven awesome bosses, plenty of challange, plenty of robots, tons of fun. If you aren't reading this right now, you should be playing Metalstorm
Man, this is pure treasure here. You'll find a hard time topping this on the NES, and the shear fun factor will rival games for as long as games are around. Thats why Metalstorm gets the Robot score of 10, absolute sweetness!
