my toilet seat adventure

some time ago i had a great idea for a theme bathroom, combining my love of bad girls in short skirts with catholic kitsch: the heaven and hell bathroom. i have been working on the plan since christmas, when i got some red towels from santa. finally i have my own place so i am able to go crazy.

my first measure of business was to paint a toilet seat. it turns out you can buy a brand new toilet seat for like $5 at home depot. i sanded all the shine off and painted it with cheapy craft acrylics and sealed with with about 10,000 layers of polyurethane designed for outdoor furniture or something. the pictures below are of the top in progress and the bottom side in action.

i also put up some postcards of pulp magazine covers up and a strip tease advertisement. i really wanted to buy some old playgirls at this garage sale but i was too embarrassed because the seller was this old creepy guy and i was by myself. instead i've got some copies of lucky magazine in there, which embodies several of the deadly sins, including lust, greed and envy (ha ha). eventually i would like to construct some crosses and maybe get some more naked people in there. i mean pictures of naked people of course.
