HISTORY OF THE INTERPLANETARY ALLIANCE

- The roots of the Alliance rest in diplomacy taken place during the Robotech Expeditionary Force's stay in the Local Group, in which a friendship pact was made between Earth and the newly-established Local Group governing council.
- It took approximately five years to re-establish contact between REF forces in the Local Group and those who had returned to Earth in 2045. The first transmissions were received as forces returning from Tirol began receiving word of victory on the home planet.
- The New United Earth Government (UEG) developed legislation in 2049 to help re-excite interest in Earth's exploration of the cosmos, and by 2052, the newest base was constructed on the planet Pluto to help serve as a final stop for all forces leaving the Solar System.
- Slowly, more and more bases were built as stops for exploration parties, and in 2093, the Earth completed its first multi-satellite communications relay system, connecting the blue planet with the Local Group.
- Now in contact with the Local Group council, the UEG convinced those of the Local Group to begin building their own interplanetary outposts. Despite talk of fears of military build-up, the council agreed to this proposition, and by 2120, the Earth and Local Group outposts are working in cooperation with each other!
- The people of the Local Group are fearful of any technological build-up due to the chances of a military being developed. They wish for their existence to remain as a non-combative alliance.
- The Earth forces and the Local Group forces operate under their own protocols, separate in their alliances but in constant contact and support of each other. As a result of this gathering of minds, scientific development reaches a never-before-seen rapidity, including studies of the workings of protoculture.
- In 2346, the leaders of Earth, the Local Group, and the Free Zentraedi Republic agree to join under a common flag, existing for the purpose of peace for all of their peoples without any possible threat--or even thought--of violence. This coalition of members is titled The Interplanetary Alliance.
