| ~The Day~ | ||||||||||||
| The day dawned, quiet and fair, Baby's breath upon my hair. New white shoes White rose bouquet Five pounds to lose Before this day. An old Bible, worn and black. Loop-ed buttons down my back. Something blue beneath my dress; Soon to feel your warm caress. Church pews filled to capacity, The march for all the world to see. A nuptial song A pastor's prayer Naught could go wrong, I see you there. Awaiting at an altar, sure, Your head turned to my allure. In your eyes the glimpse of love, In His eyes, looking from above... The gift of God, His blessings true, As we held our breaths and said, "I do." |
