People

We are all born with capabilities. To see, to question, to do. Our survival instincts make us seek what we need, but what we want is not instinct, it is learned. We are born with many necessary capacities and talents. Our natural senses, which allow us to observe the space around us, the ability to innovate, to invent, to learn, to know, to imagine, and to manage. We are born with a complex and highly effective management system which controls us as we learn to control ourselves. To sense what is around us, to learn what we expect, and what we need. And then we also learn what we want. "Want" is a defining word. It is a cumulative word, which teaches us things like what we want and how much do we want. It gives us the power of reason, such as how much do we need to want. Then need becomes the question. Social structure is built on a foundation of several basic words such as need, have, and want, etc.. Want has become a major and main part of the building blocks in the foundation of society. "Want" is a word that creates expectations.

Society

There is no society without people. And since no two people are identical, physically and mentally, the wants, haves, and expectations become more diverse as populations grow. But the needs are basically all the same. Society has great impact on the individual, usually more than an individual has on a society, as it is the individual who enters society and is first to expect from society. It is not until society can use something from what the individual has learned or has been taught that also then allows the individual to participate and become usefull towards and to society. Participation is a "Social Need" and an "Individual Need" to not participate is irresponsibility on the part of society first. So society needs the individual to participate in society, and the individual needs society to participate in. This produces "Responsibility" on the part of society and then on the part of the individual. Expectations cannot be put on the individual if they cannot be put on society. Society then becomes the individual existing inside of the environment. Society as it works, builds, and constructs inside of the environment does have a responsibility as an individual towards the environment. The failure of society to have individuals who willingly participate, also will fail with it's responsibility towards the environment.

Business

Business is not a solution. It is a "Social Tool". It is a vehicle to be used as a means to provide society's needs, wants, hopes, and expectations. Business must have movement, must always be in search if it is to provide the vehicle for society to prosper. If a buisness does not grow, no not in size, in the ability to become the vehicle of society to become more prosporous, it is not needed by society and will only do harm to society. Society therefore has a responsibility, and should have the ability to question businesses. Businesses should understand responsibility towards society as without society there is no business. Words like Integrity, business ethics, honesty, clean direct communication, a solid foundation, plans on how to prosper in society, strategies and goals which benefit the customer who is part of society, will lead to a society which will allow growth of the business. Business needs a healthy society to have healthy growth. That is how business should be, at least that is my opinion. But with the industrialized world beyond infancy, and claims from business and government of all of the "PROGRESS" that has been and is being made. Is there real business integrity? With all of the progress that is advertised like "Beleive us it's new and advanced due to unbeleivable amounts of money we put into it's progress". Is profit the only progress a few individuals can show society as the means to validate where we are today. So where exactly are we with our progress, our capabilities, our assumed knowledge. Business knowledge should benefit society in a constructive way. Business should be the leader in accepting change, innovating new ways to solve the needs of society. Which leads to the question what is "PROGRESS"?.

Progress

What is Progress? Are we to assume that just because it is what it is, that it is good enough not to question how and why we have come to this point in time to see it as it is. Hindsight will not help change today, but to not question implies that change is not necessary. And if you take a look, change is needed all around. Who gets to decide what progress is, what it should be, what it will be, who will be included, who will benefit from it. Progress is an active word, requiring activity, movement, motivation. As past experience shows, Progress is not always productive. Progress requires change. Change leads us into unknown areas. The unknown is always feared. And what is feared,is killed, and then sometimes someone asks why. Usually he is told to not ask, as questions may lead to unpleasant answers and what is done is done, and what is is, and if that can be considered good enough, that is Progress. People are trained to avoid the questions. No not to ignore them, just not to answer in any direct way that may offend someone. People who can conquer this most valuable skill, and have a good honest smile, do very well in the society we have evolved. As it is people who have made the changes and the progress of what is acceptible in society. So we must do what we are told by authority not to do and that is to question. And that is a threat to authority. So i must question, WHY?.

Why?

Why is a interesting word, it requires no movement, no action, it may not even have a solution, but it does carry a responsibility. So don't ask why if you may find an answer you cannot live with. But there are those who just must, and will have to decide if they can accept the answers they find. Why are solutions and progress always seemingly a last minute ditch effort to find correct answers, or to right a wrong. As in first comes the solutuion and if proven incorrect to find a solution to the incorrect solution. Should not the emphasis start with why? and focus on finding first the correct question? Maybe the correct questions would be to simple for us to understand as most of us like to be complicated, and are very complex. The obvious is usually the most evasive even and especially when it's right in front of us when we do not expect it to be there... When there is a crisis, we do find many heroes, but why? are we accustomed to waiting for a visible crisis. No not all crisis can be avoided. But to just wait is not to look for the signs, and that is like driving withyour eyes closed.

So Why?
