The dark crystal
given to Cecil by
Golbez. Only the
Paladin can use it.
activates automatically in the lair of the Dark Elf (see characters page).
The Rat (tail) allows you to get the Excalibur Sword (see weapons page for stats.)
The Pink (tail) allows you to get the Adamant Armor. (see armors page for stats.)
Make sure to get both these items. The first is to get the rat tail from the Land of Summoned Monsters, then use the hovercraft from Silveria to the small cave to get the Adamant ore. Take this to Kokol the Smith in the underground and he wiil make Excalibur.
The second item is much harder to get. First you must get to the moon. Once there, use the crystals to get to the subterranean levels.
Get to Subterranean B5 and locate the entrance to a small room with a chest in it. The entrance is in the bottomm right area. Go to the top of the room where there are about five or six spaces to walk back and forth in. Walk back and for in this area and run from everything but, the Pink Puff. Their only move is dance. There is a one in sixty-four chance of finding them and a one in sixty-four chance of getting the tail from them. I have foung this can take from 10 minutes to 2 hours. DO NOT be discouraged. This is the ultimate and most powerful armor in the game!!! Once you have the tail go back to Silveria and give the tail to the man in the cave, you will then get the armor. If you lose money during the running from countless battles, don't worry, your hard earned GP's will be re-embersed along with a TON of experience, despite what any chart says.
