Queen of the Damned fails in comparison to the first movie, Interview With a Vampire. The actor that portrayed Lestat seemed more equip for the role of Erik from, The Crow rather than than a vampire. Lestat was portrayed in the first movie by Tom Cruise, and after comparing, Queen of the Damned, his performance can be appreciated more. In Queen of the Damned they depict Lestat's becoming of a vampire much like Brad Pitt did in the first movie. Except in this movie he was played by an actor that was overdoing it with a miserable accent. I really did not like this movie, but I expected as much going into it.
What I can say for this movie is that it is an excellent advertisement for the books, and can allow you to appreciate the performance of the actors from the first movie.
I thought the movie was ok, and that there were actually a few laugh-out-loud moments in this movie, but they couldn't make up for the rest of the boring scenes. |
