Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year all in one!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 6 weeks in the States for our furlough.  We feel blessed beyond measure for our families and friendships that God has given us and will miss you all until we return next year.  Our apologies for those we were unable to visit with.  Our time was too short to do all we wanted to do.

BACK AT THE BRIDGE
Our youth at the Bridge House were in good hands with one of our ministry workers and we are pleased that all well in our absence.  We missed them all and enjoy being back with them again.  Franklin finished with his school year and will be working with WGO's brigades in January.  Everyone else is gearing up for the second half of their school year.

CHRISTMAS TIME IN HONDURAS
Everyone has enjoyed time over the Christmas holidays both here at the house and with their biological families.  Jessica was offered a live chicken by family members so she could kill it, cook it up, and enjoy it for Christmas (that seems to be a tradition here we all missed out on before).  She laughed out loud when the chicken was handed to her in a bag, kicking and scratching for dear life.  Robert, Rodolfo, and Franklin enjoyed a
Rocky movie marathon for several evenings in a row.  One of our two parrots escaped from its cage but the one still left has actually been much more pleasant to be around.  He now climbs up on our shoulders and has doubled his vocabulary in the past 3 weeks.  Franklin also taught Jennifer how to make a very typical Honduran dessert served at Christmas time (similar to French toast soaked in a molasses and cinnamon syrup, served cold)

Along with the fun experiences, we have also experienced some tragedies this Christmas holiday.  Franklin's dad died rather suddenly a few days before Christmas and it has been understandably difficult for Franklin and his siblings.  He and his dad were blessed to have just spent the day together right before his dad died, and he had seemed very well at the time.  Jennifer's grandfather also died in Arkansas, just after his 88th birthday.  That was difficult too, but she was blessed to be able to go back quickly to spend a few days with family and attend the funeral.  Her granddad left a Godly legacy for the family and he will be greatly missed.  Please keep Franklin and his family in your prayers as it will be a difficult time for them.  Also pray for Jennifer's family as they suffer in the loss of her grandfather.

Please continue praying for us all.  God is working in our lives and has things to teach us while we are together.  May we all strive to learn better to honor God in all we do.Thank you for your prayers and support.  We are richly blessed by you all and are excited to be back in Honduras and continue the work God has for us here.
It was great to have Rodolfo with us to meet our families and friends and to get a taste of our lives in the States.  This was his second trip to the States but now a little older and more able to enjoy seeing things and meeting people in our whirlwind tour through Arkansas, Mississippi, and California.  He fit right in everywhere we went and was able to quickly make new friends.  We felt blessed to have him with us.
