| LIFE ON THE RANCH - 2001 -Walking independent- or growing together? JOSHUA AGE 15 (almost) The hairdoo is still a big deal this year however, its no longer the doo or helmet head he merely stands in front of the mirror, turns on his homemade speaker system and watches his hair vibrate into position. Hes developed a web site for me thats great. www.geocities.com/robinstudy Check it out. Did you know that wife beaters are white underwear shirts? Did you know that pecks are flexed ribs? Did you know that when you drive through manure it sticks to the car and its hard to get off? Did you know that the best way to listen to a song is with the bass at volume 10 and all the other levels at 0 then raising the volume to a point where your eyeballs vibrate out of their sockets? KELLY AGE 16 ..is very much into camera work and has learned to paint black and whites. Her dream is to be a filmmaker. Shes been looking at some workshop opportunities in New York maybe next summer? Shes still very into female Went into Victoria Secrets and man did I ever get an education. Did you know that Cheetah bras are in? Did you know that leopard underwear is awesome? Shes now into light make up- tried the eyeliner look- somehow it didnt highlight my eyes like it does hers mine seem to sag and bag? Whats with that? Did you know that mud fights and swing dances are coolmy face dries up and falls up with the mud part..and in terms of the swing dance thing? my hips would swing and never come back! LAURA AGE 17 we told this one we werent sure she could go to Wheaton College because we werent sure we could afford to send THREE there at ONE TIME her response was, No problem mom Ill pole dance in a night club and earn the money.. I reconsidered. Shes into glitter lipstick and glitter eyeshadow of course, I had to give it a try. Makes me look like a glorified Glo-Worm. Also tried out the neon blue mascara. Makes me look like I tied one too many on the night before. Shes headed for South America next summer with a missions team what a place to go to learn some pole dance routines! SARAH-CRAIG and John William-toys on the floor-ta-rrrrrrrrruck as a dominant word- and a smile that will make your heart melt fill each day. Craig and Sarah both serve at Spring Hill Camp in Evart Michigan- Craig as an employee- Sarah as a volunteer- their home, filled constantly with friends an open door and opportunity for ministry to many. The message of this marriage? You are welcome and unconditionally loved. DAVID- AMY and Kathryn Elizabeth biggest brown eyes youve ever seen- curiosity that never dies-an imaginary kitchen that makes Martha Stewart look weak, and a life unfolding in discovery fill Amys day to overflowing. In between diaper changes, and naps Amy works part time for Crystal Flash and spends some down time with other moms. David is growing with Edward Jones working off and on overseas to develop Jones offices in England. His passion for hunting and fishing still thrives, but finding the time a different story! JENNY AND DAVID: Heather, Justin, Benjamin, Bethany Grace, Krista, Nathan, Melody Joy, and Hannah Grace (twins) and one more on the way (a boy). I dont know how Jenny does all that she does. All of these kids are homeschooled taking piano and are involved in Karate. David is growing in the area of ministry both in small group activities and a full time Karate school. Were making a trip to North Carolina shortly to share some of the holiday season with them. Im psyched! JIM AND I 20 years of marriage..I love him more today than I did the day I married him. I love him when I mow the yard..when I pull weeds..when I do mailings..when I am so tired that I tell him.. You touch me..you die... I love him when we are quiet together..I love him when I am so mad at him that no words quite cut it..and then HE LAUGHS AT ME!! All that we are involved in..business..music..Bible study ..concerts ..speaking engagements..and family.. do not measure up to the treasure that God has given to us in each other. On a regular basis he sneaks cookies out of the cookie jar and in a truly bold move, hits Dairy Queen for a Blizzard- He needs a little help in the romance department though- The girls are working on it for me this year! Heres the story: Last year for Christmas I wanted a new coat. long navy blue one. There was a large box under the tree perfect in size to hold a new coat. Felt pretty weighty was lookin good. Christmas morning everyone opened their gifts. My turn. I was sooo hoping. Opened the box and pulled out this flat long 24 x 30 bright orange thing with a plug on it. Acting very surprised and delighted I said, Thank you so much stuttered a little, and then said.. What is this? He smiled proudly and said, A pig warmer. In all due respect, it took him a year to find one- and it truly was what he said it was, a pig warmer. (a flat thing that heats up when you plug it in that they put baby pigs on after they are born to keep them warm) the office area where I spend most of my time when Im home is above the garage. The floor gets cold. His intent was to keep my pretty little feet warm while I studiedtruly, in all consideration- it was a real heart move, however, when asked by other women, So what did Jim get you for Christmas my response of a pig warmer is still met with initial shock followed by laughter that lends itself to tears. Any of you have any great romantic suggestions prior to Christmas please, by all means, feel free to contact Jim and tell Pat when you call that I said, Put you through! Smile. SOMETHING TO THINK ON Life is a gift. You choose the journey. Are you walking independent of God Or are you growing together If youre waking up every morning wishing you hadnt- If youre life is empty youre missing something- Youre not making it on your own. Truth? None of us can. Christmas birthed an option that was offered on a cross-bring the mess to Me I died so you would trust Me with it - The intent? To bring purpose To offer direction and guidance To heal and restore to build To strengthen and release To set free- The request? Stop pretending to be Meand let Me show you who I am- ..why in the world would anyone want to walk independent of that kind of relationship? I dont get it. Merry Christmas, Jim and Robin Hibschman JIM AND ROBIN HIBSCHMAN |
