ROBIN DONALD SMITH (Operatic Tenor)
ROBIN DONALD SMITH (Operatic Tenor) is the son of argueably the greatest male Opera  Singer that Australia has ever produced, the Queensland born Tenor DONALD SMITH OBE.

Like his father, Robin was born in the Queensland cane farming town of Bundaberg, which is located approximately 6 hours driving, north of the Queensland capital city of Brisbane and the famous Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast beaches.

Robin possess a tenor voice of remarkablely similar tambre and style to that of his father. For over 25 years he sung as
ROBIN DONALD performing leading tenor roles throughout Britian, on the Continent in Germany, Belgium, Holland and Greece as well as his native country Australia.
During this period Robin was contracted and performed as a principal tenor with the Sadler's Wells Opera, the English National Opera, Welsh National Opera and the Australian Opera Company, where he returned to Australia in 1973 to perform in the Sydney Opera House opening celebrations. 

Robin's major operatic tenor roles repertoire encompassed a wide range of opera composers including Verdi, Puccini, Wagner, Massenet, Donizetti and Mozart. Some of his roles included Rodolpho in La Boheme, Pinkerton in Madam Butterfly, The Duke in Rigoletto, Des Grieux in Manon, Nemorino in E'Lisir D'Amore, both the Steersman and Eric in The Flying Dutchman to name a few. During this period Robin established himself with an operatic repertoire of over fifty principal tenor roles.

After returning again to England to complete contractual obligations following the opening of the Sydney Opera House, Robin finally relocated his family to Australia in 1974 and remained a principal tenor with Opera Australia  for over ten years.
