Welcome To The Robin Elminster Project Page

I have been working the kinks out of an idea for a while now. I have held events to benifit charity before, and wanted to do it again. But this time I wanted to do something different. I thought of my group of friends, and what I could do that would make the best use of their skills, or at least appeal to them in some way. Now, being a part time tattoo artist, and an apperant freek in general, most of my friends are bikers, strippers, and the likes. Lets just say their not the faces you would usualy associate with charity work, if you know what I mean.

This is the thought, that ended up being the basis of my idea. I thought, "why not"? I then decided to try to create a charity that "my people" could get behind, enjoy, and most important, feel good about being a part of. So I came up with the Robin Elminster Project, to try and do just that.

The first event I wanted to try to organise was a charity bike ride from coast to coast. But the charity ride thing has been done. I needed something better, something new. So I started sending eMails to some bike shops, and soon, . . . .

I have talked to Harley Davidson Ink. and custom shops across the country. I am planing to take a donated bike, strait from the Harley factory, and ride it the whole way to California. I am going to stop at a number of bike shops along the way, having each shop donate a small amount of their own signature work. By the end of the trip, I intend to have (with lots of help) created a custom chopper that will then be sold for charity.

I want this to be huge, and really try to make something special happen along the way. But I'm just starting out, and it will take time to set it all up. Advertising, media and sponsorship will all be needed to get the public's intrest up, to make the end sale a success. Bike shops with the proper skills will have to be willing to do the work. And volintiers will be needed to handle the scheduling, paperwork and flow of information. Again, it will take time. But in the end I think we can make a difference. And thats what makes it worth it.
