The Laws and Policies as of Jul. XII, A.S. XLII (7/12/07)
Article I: Laws And Policies
I-100 These are the only laws of the Rogues Refuge and supersede all previous laws.
I-200 The laws of Rogues Refuge may be modified at any time by the Head Master.
Changes to a law take effect after they have been checked for conflict with
other guild law, and then ordered so, by the Head Master
I-201 The Head Master is the final interpreter of all Rogues Refuge laws and policies.
I-300 The laws and policies shall be republished at least once every two years
(more often if needed, at the discretion of the Head Master) and shall be made available to the populace.
Article II: Chain of Command
II-100 The Head Master:
II-101 The Head Master shall be the governing body of the Rogues Refuge. All issues within Rogues Refuge shall be decided by the Head Master.
II-102 The Head Master shall oversee the Guild Masters, and all members of Rogues Refuge. The Head Master shall also officiate all Rogues Refuge ceremonies and events, unless an alternate official is appointed by the Head Master for a specific event.
II-200 The Guild Masters:
II-201 The Guild Masters shall each be the governing body of their own divisions of Rogues Refuge, known as Guilds. All issues within each Guild shall be decided by the Guild Master.
Article III: Membership
III-100 Any persons wanting to become a member of Rogues Refuge must first gain sponsorship of a Guild.
III-101 In order to be eligible for sponsorship, a person must be 18 years of age or older.
III-102 After sponsorship is obtained, each must then serve a minimum, two year initiation period, starting and ending during the Pennsic War event (the recognized Rogues Refuge New Year).
III-103 The particular iniciation practices of each Guild shall be up to the Guild Master in charge of that Guild.
III-104 Each Guild is responsible for the actions and direction of their iniciates for the duration of the iniciation period and, with reason, may ask to retract their sponsorship of the initiate.
III-105 Each Guild may only sponsor one iniciate per year. (Rule Temporaraly Suspended, By Order Of The Head Master)
III-200 After the two year initiation period, the Head Master shall decide weather to grant or deny membership, based on the initiate's participation in, and representation of, Rogues Refuge.
III-202 If membership is approved, the new member will remain a part of the Guild under which they were iniciated.
III-203 If membership is denied, A period of no less than two years must pass before that person will again be eligable for an initiation.
III-204 A person denied membership, will be eligable for re-initiation no more than twice.
III-205 Junior memberships shall be automaticly granted to minors who's parent/guardian has membership in the guild.
Article IV: Membership Dues
IV-100 All members and iniciates are required to pay yearly dues, in the amount of fifty dollars, to retain their membership and seniority in Rorues Refuge.
IV-101 These dues shall be used to fund all guild activities, and is non-refundable.
IV-102 There will be a ten dollar fine, payable to Rogues Refuge by the respective Guild. for each member or iniciate, who's dues are not in on time.
IV-200 All members and iniciates attending Pennsic War, are required to pay yearly dues, in the amount of one hundred dollars.
IV-201 These dues shall be used to pre register that member for the event, since pre registration for the event is a mandated practice of Rogues Refuge.
IV-202 There will be a ten dollar fine, payable to Rogues Refuge by the respective Guild. for each attending member or iniciate, who is not pre registered.
IV-300 All members and iniciates attending Pennsic War, are also required to pay yearly dues, in the amount of fifty dollars.
IV-301 These dues shall be used to fund the group tavern, known as The Black Boar Inn, and its events.
IV-400 All dues must be payed in full by May first, due to the deadline for pre-registration, and annual necessity for group funding for Pennsic War around this time.
